Participates as a member of the Supply Chain Management Group in determining program objectives and priorities. Undertakes cross training in Supply Chain activities as determined by the Manager SCM. Acts as the key point of contact for all land administration and inventory related business as it pertains to SCM.

Accountable for inventory analysis, inventory/stock recommendations, inventory management and control operations. Using advanced analytical skills in conjunction with database management to ensure that procedures and controls are adhered to, that requests are processed in a timely manner, and that records are maintained in accordance with corporate policy, procedure and system requirements as they relate to inventory and SCM. Acts in a support capacity to the Purchaser providing limited Procurement Services as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconciles inventory system records to general ledger accounts on a monthly basis and advises discrepancies to staff. Comparisons are performed daily, and discrepancies corrected. Enter Inventory Adjustments, Journal Entries for any discrepancies between GL and Sub System.
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating Inventory counts. Responsible for the oversight of the counts, accuracy of the work of others, troubleshooting, analysis, and discrepancy reports from the annual, quarterly and cycle stock inventory counts. Ensures that all counts that are entered into the system are complete. Reviews all findings with the Manager SCM.
  • In co-operation with line management ensures that purchasing, warehousing and distribution standards, policies and procedures are implemented to ensure that inventory items are available at required locations, at acceptable prices, and within required and reasonable time frames to meet ongoing operational demand.
  • Establishes and maintains corporate monitoring and reporting procedures to maintain central, active control over inventory levels for the Hay River distribution centre, area plants and satellite locations.
  • Maintain the Corporation’s land status documentation and ensure the land titles database is up to date for newly acquired information. Review and ensure the completeness of the database given the Corporation’s current assets and makes recommendations to Management for changes where appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Two-year diploma in a related field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, IT or Engineering Technology and a minimum of five years related experience including inventory control, accounting and computerized inventory management systems is required. Equivalencies may be considered.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures and accounting principles.
  • Good interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong data analytics skills including spreadsheet and database management capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office including programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Must undergo a successful criminal records check.

Salary for this position ranges from $37.60/hr.-$45.68/hr. as well as location and accommodation allowance of approximately $8,023 per annum.
