Position Summary:

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Assistant Shipping Supervisor is responsible for loading and unloading product into and from trucks (including exports), records maintenance (rotations, time keeping and quality), completing invoices and arranging transportation. Position organizes warehouses, freezers, coolers and the shipping dock area and is accountable for the supervision and training of shipping staff. Position may work shift work, when required. Maintain a clean and organized workplace for safety and quality.

Key Accountabilities:

• Accurately and efficiently perform duties to prepare quality poultry products for delivery to our customers;
• Maintain shipping records;
• Accountable for the effective supervision and training of shipping staff;
• Responsible to complete all tasks to specification;
• Ensure a safe working environment for employees, customers and visitors;
• Able to perform discipline as required;
• Any other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma coupled with one year shipping experience, preferably in the food industry;
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
• Good communication skills, verbal and written;
• Previous customer service/shipping experience an asset.
