Summary

Terus Construction Ltd., a Colas company, is looking for a highly motivated Asset Care Manager to join our team, based out of our Surrey, BC head office.


The incumbent will perform the following:

As part of the Senior Management team, you will plan and execute Asset Care strategy for the Operational units and provide input on technology based on requirements. This includes management of the entire lifecycle of assets within the organization. You will also oversee optimal functioning, continual upgrading and acquisition of equipment and technology while supporting capital projects. All of this with a focus on managing change, maximum utilization, cost effectiveness, improving effectiveness, profitability procurement and installation.
Ensure respect of corporate policies and procedures. Provides recommendations to optimize equipment efficiencies and establish the equipment replacement schedule. Support operations to ensure efficient inventory management and maintenance functions. Ensure that operations track records of fuel consumptions, licenses, inspections, equipment aging, warranties, and service agreements for the organization’s fleet, production equipment and fixed assets. Minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Operations team to oversee and support Profit and Loss for the Department.
  • Serve as liaison with Colas Canada in regard to all Asset Management functions.
  • Support Operations in budgeted equipment procurement and maintenance.
  • Ensure all operations are performed with the utmost regard for safety and health of all persons involved.
  • Ensure compliance to equipment/asset management corporate guidelines and strategies
  • Develop, recommend, and monitor plans and programs for the efficient and effective management of assets.
  • Maintain and deliver asset management related data to support optimization decisions.
  • Prepares and present a range of reports including Capex, Equipment Utilization
  • Accountable for effective budgeting, reviewing of equipment rates and equipment utilization.
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures for improvement from an asset management perspective.
  • Recommend requirement to ensure efficiency.
  • Provides internal and external customers with full value quality service.
  • Sharing of best practices across the organization.
  • Keeping informed or new innovation, trends ad changes to technology to apply standards, resources and possible implementation to organization.
  • Travel regularly to operations sites to conduct assessments and support local management in resolving issues surrounding his area of responsibilities.


Profile

Experience/Education:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree paired with 8 to 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Combination of technical training paired with vocational education such as licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic certificate in addition to 12 -15 years of experience in the construction industry.
