Probewell Lab is a fast-growing manufacturing company specializing in the design, fabrication and assembly of innovative products.

We are looking for a dynamic individual recognized for his natural leadership, ability to mobilize teams and entrepreneurial spirit, to fill a strategic position within our organization: Vice President, Operations.

Under the President and General Manager’s supervision, the VP Operations’ primary mission is to analyze operations and implement processes to optimize productivity, efficiency and, consequently, the profitability of manufacturing activities.

As part of the management team, the incumbent plays a decisive role in managing emerging challenges by implementing creative solutions. He or she must keep pace with technological innovations, be a visionary and implement cost-effective strategy based on the company’s projected needs.

Responsabilities

The mandate of the Vice-President, Operations entails:

  • Being responsible for planning the organization of work and management systems for all activities related to the company’s manufacturing processes.
  • Analyzing the activities of the departments under his/her supervision.
  • Develop and implement efficient management systems to improve the Engineering team’s operations and project management.

Analyzing and optimizing processes related to all production activities, measure efficiency and follow up on improvement steps. Ensuring that the quality assurance process is kept up to date and that procedures are respected, while providing innovative solutions. Overseeing the procurement process (negotiation of major accounts and payment discounts) and activities related to logistics and supply management. Optimizing and develop human and material resources, while respecting operational budgets. Contributing, through your positive attitude, to creating a favorable climate in line with the company’s values. Conducting performance appraisals of staff members. Be in charge of strategic improvement and investment projects.

Professional Qualifications And Skills

Expertise

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in administration, operations management or industrial engineering, or other training deemed equivalent.
  • Fluently bilingual, English and French (spoken and written).
  • Experience: 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills

  • Software proficiency: MS Office Suite and ERP.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement management tools.
