One of our major telecommunication clients is looking for a UX Interaction Designer (Visual, UI, Agile, Jira)

Length: 1 year contract with a possibility of extension

Location: Toronto, ON- Remote

PROJECT DETAILS:

This person will be working closely with another designer and product owner on the team. They will be responsible for overall product health and optimization – working to design a strategy to address customer pain points. This role is highly cross-functional. They will be working with developers, content writers, QAs, and other product owners. They need to showcase that they have worked in an Agile environment. This is not a heads-down role, it is very collaborative. Adaptability is important as requirements are constantly changing.

You’ll be working collaboratively across teams of passionate individuals who are on a mission to empower our customers in managing their telecom services easily. We’re looking for a skilled designer who loves creating delightful digital experiences, specifically focusing on our self-serve Mobility products, and is excited by the challenge of the ever changing digital landscape.

CREATING WORLD CLASS DIGITAL EXPERIENCES THROUGH:

· Applying user-centered design processes and industry best practices.

· Engaging design systems to create experiences that are brand-consistent across all platforms.

· Identify opportunities and research objective with UX researchers and optimization strategists in qualitative and

· quantitative research during discovery, evaluation, and validation

· Helping your team to interpret usability testing, user research, session replay, customer feedback, and analytics to uncover insights and identify gaps by working with the respective teams.

· Contributing to IA structures, pattern libraries and style guides to ensure consistency and quality across experiences.

ACTIVELY PROBLEM SOLVING BY:

· Breaking design problems down into viable actionable chunks and solving them with clarity and precision.

· Engaging in the lean development life cycle from discovery to testing, release and maintenance.

WORKING CROSS-FUNCTIONALLY ACROSS TEAMS TO:
Working collaboratively with other designers to contribute to exploratory design sessions and mapping workshops
present recommendations to team members on functionality, content, and navigation that are considerate of the iterative process.

YOU’RE THE MISSING PIECE OF THE PUZZLE

· Passion for design and building exceptional users experiences for our customers

· You have excellent production skills, an eye for detail with a good understanding of typography, intuitive layouts and design systems

· The right skill-sets to plan use-cases and user interaction, including happy path, edge and corner cases, and incorporate them into designs.

· Familiar with industry design practices and methodologies, but flexible enough to think outside the box and divert when required.

· Knowledge of industry best practices and use of tools

· You’re comfortable using Figma, Miro, Google Suite… plus whiteboard, pen, paper and stickies!

· Exceptional understanding of responsive web design best practices - what works best for desktop versus mobile and why.

· Good understanding of accessibility best practices and an ability to create accessible products.
Awareness of lean digital product development lifecycles in a highly-collaborative, agile environment.

· Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders

· You’re able to communicate design rationale and build consensus

· You’re a self -motivated team player who thrives on collaborating with cross functional teams

· You’re have no problem with managing your own time and organizational skills to enable you to work in a rapidly changing environment.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

· 2-3 years of UX experience

· Background in Visual Design and UI

· Experience working in a larger Agile environment with management tooling/authenticated space (i.e. check-out flow)

Great-to-haves

Stretches team perspective - bringing insights into issues and suggesting potential actions or solutions

Nice to have skills:
1. Familiarity with JIRA for user testing/research
2. Working knowledge of design systems
3. Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance
