The Citi Global Wealth (CGW) Structured Lending Product Management Specialist will have primary responsibility for working with various Wholesale Lending Program Managers on a wide variety of Global Wholesale Lending products, including, but not limited to:
Aircraft Lending
Sports Finance
Structured Lending Products
Unsecured Lending
Other Secured Lending (private equity, hedge funds, other assets, etc.)
Canadian Residential Real Estate
Bahamas Residential Real Estate
Art Lending
Regional Tailored Lending
Insurance Premium Financing
Wealth at Work (Lawyer and Law Firm Financing)
New Product Development
This role requires the individual to have deep product knowledge, industry/competitive knowledge and sound credit judgment. The Product Management Specialist will work on managing specific products on an ongoing basis, updating quarterly metrics, ensuring deals conform with the parameters of the product programs, managing exception limits, portfolio limits, assisting with annual portfolio reviews, product program renewal and updates. The Product Management Specialist will assist the Program Managers to driving new business, meeting annual product sales goals and supporting Structured Lending Transactors as the Product SME. Product Management Specialists will also work on new product development and program digitization.
This role will report to the North America Head of Wholesale Lending, but the position will cover Global products.
Responsibilities:
The role requires an experienced Lending, Risk or Product Management professional with strong Private Banking or Commercial Lending background.
Ability to work independently to conduct market research for product program updates in light of market conditions or competitive changes.
Work closely with Program Managers, Structured Lending Transactors and Risk to ensure credits are approved in-line with product program guideline including Bank Credit Policy and Program Risk Acceptances Criteria (RAC) and to actively manage exception levels and product limits including ongoing reporting and portfolio reviews.
Assist Program Managers with renewing and updating product programs.
This is a demanding role for which a strong mix of credit and process skills are crucial. It requires an ability to influence stakeholders, senior Business and Risk managers, auditors or other areas of the Bank, to deliver against budget and to ensure processes meet the Bank’s highest standards.
Appropriately assess risk, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Strong data management skills with long-term goal of helping to digitizing product programs and championing a data driven culture.
Assist Program Managers to develop and track KPIs for each specific product.
Partner with Lending Advisors, Structured Lending Transactors, Risk, Legal and Compliance to actively manage the product programs to ensure competitiveness in changing markets and external competition.
Qualifications:
2+ years of Private Banking or Commercial Product, Risk or Lending experience
Product management experience; digital product experience a plus
Strong knowledge of Citibank’s Credit Policies, Product Programs and Citi Policies
Strong analytical skills
Data management skills a must
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure to tight deadlines
Good negotiation skills
Strong initiative and interactive approach to problem solving
Displays flexibility and independence in a demanding environment
Team player
