Right Choice Energy Services Inc. (RCESI) is currently accepting applications for an experienced Specialty Metals Division (SMD) Shop Foreman/Woman. Reporting to the Specialty Metals Division Manager, the SMD Shop Foreman will be responsible for ensuring the safe and quality execution of all SMD activities. The SMD Shop Foreman will be required to provide direction, supervision and mentorship to SMD division personnel and will be accountable for adherence to all aspects of RCESI’s Safety Management System, Quality Control Program and core values at all times. The primary shift for this position is Monday-Friday from 7:00am-5:00pm, but availability in the evenings and/or weekends may be required, depending on business needs.

SMD Shop Foreman duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing the day to day operations of the Custom Fabrication Shop, and ensuring efficient and effective work processes are in place and adhered to
• Organizing and scheduling manpower and equipment requirements with Field Supervisors and Management as required
• Assigning work tasks to SMD and other division personnel
• Assist in preparing quotations at time of bid, primarily quoting shop hours and process
• Correctly understanding engineering and shop drawings and directing work as required to eliminate errors and rework
• Coaching and mentoring of SMD personnel including encouraging the learning and development of SMD personnel
• Ensuring strict adherence to all RCESI Safety protocols at all times
• Ensuring strict adherence to all RCESI Quality Control protocols at all times
• Developing a strong understanding of client specifications and how they relate to execution of SMD activities
• Maintaining a clean work area and facility
• Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, skills, experience, and qualifications:

• 10+ years’ experience in steel fabrication, sheet metal fabrication and/or welding
• 5+ years of supervisory/foreman experience preferred
• Journeyperson certificate in Steel Fabrication, Sheet Metal Fabrication, or Welding
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
• Experience with welding various types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals (Carbon Steel, Stainless, Alum, Duplex)
• Experience with various types of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW & FCAW/MCAW)
• Experience with shop fabrication equipment
• Competence in reading blueprints, and understanding of weld procedures/processes
• Ability to efficiently plan work and communicate plans to all impacted stakeholders
• Ability to work professionally with Client Representatives at all times
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to successfully deal with conflict
• Capable of demonstrating worksite mobility including but not limited to: standing, walking, lifting and climbing
• Ability to effectively and efficiently supervise up to 10 employees
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, required
• Experience with the operation of AutoCAD software would be considered an asset
