Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Software Technical Lead to join our team. Someone who enjoys hands-on software development and leading a team of developers through the technical aspects of a workplan. You’ll coach and mentor the team, empowering to innovate and perform at their best. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days in our office based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.Responsibilities:- Execute the technical portions of work plans ensuring on time and on budget.
- Technically leading a development team as well as be a hands-on developer for a big portion of your day – designing, developing, and testing.
- Manage development iterations and report up on metrics and progress.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, quality assurance, and product owners, to identify project requirements and recommend technical solutions.
- Provide technical oversight through review and coaching to ensure development processes, review, coaching.
- Design robust and protected applications and works closely with various cybersecurity leaders to drive best practices into products.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation and user manuals.
- Remain up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software development.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Participate in continuous improvement of development practices and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years’ of professional and progressive experience in software development + 2 years of technical leadership
- Experience with NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, VueJS, Docker, RabbitMQ, WebSockets, SQL
- Experience following secure coding practices
- TCP/IP, UDP, SSL, sockets and general networking architectures
- Developing for embedded systems would be an asset
- Knowledge of agile software development methodologies and estimation
- Familiarity with Git and Git-based workflows.
- Experience with remote development and communication tools such as MS Teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
