We are now seeking exceptional individuals to join our dynamic team, where you will have the opportunity to innovate, grow, and make a major difference.
As a senior wireless access planner in our network planning and development team, you will be responsible for developing mid- and long-term wireless plans as well as driving investments for small cells and inbuildings.
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform market analysis to comprehend trends, competitors, and regulations in the wireless access industry.
- Identify opportunities for expansion and enhancement to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Develop a 3-year wireless access roadmap for Rogers that is aligned with the company’s vision and goals.
- Assess cost-effective solutions that meet the objectives and requirements of the roadmap.
- Partner with finance to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of proposed investments.
- Collaborate with business teams, regional planning teams, network implementation teams, and engineering teams to communicate priorities for our in-building and small cell plans.
- Monitor project progress, review budget allocations, and make adjustments as needed.
- Evaluate network performance based on capital investments made in expansion projects.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and reporting mechanisms.
- Develop and enhance network performance guidelines and best practises, measure strategy effectiveness, and stay abreast of industry standards and technological advancements.
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in the wireless communication industry, along with a post-secondary education in electrical or telecommunication engineering
- Strong understanding of 3GPP architectures and reference points for 4G and 5G wireless networks and in-depth knowledge of RAN capacity, optimisation processes, and performance KPIs.
- Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to develop trends and analyse data
- Expert knowledge of MapInfo, Power BI, and other mapping and analytics tools
- Passionate about automation, data science, and machine learning and highly adaptive and flexible to changing environments and priorities, along with an out-of-the-box thinking mindset.
- Highly motivated individual with excellent planning and budget skills, a specific background in projects involving multiple geographic regions and cross-functional teams, and a demonstrated ability to manage and track projects
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with technical and non-technical teams, with expertise in providing executive summaries and PowerPoint presentations.
Great-to-haves
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field, such as math, statistics, computer science, economics, or data science.
- Experience working with Ericsson or Nokia RAN equipment
- Advanced knowledge in programming languages, such as Python, etc.
