What you’ll be doing:

As a part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with clients, while driving the delivery of engineering studies and design projects, focusing on projects that specialize in District Energy and Decarbonization.

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, here’s what the day-to-day looks like:

• Responsible for the design and execution of projects ranging in size and complexity, with a focus on building mechanical systems for different types of buildings, specifically District Energy and Decarbonization projects

• Participate in the design development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems or products for building HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems

• Lead a design team through the entire project life cycle, supporting the team in client meetings, collaborating with other disciplines and consultants, coordinating site service and mechanical requirements, and performing field reviews

• Take ownership for projects from start to finish, meeting project objectives while putting emphasis on sustainable solutions and outcomes

• Promote active, continuous learning and improvement within the team. Cultivate team members’ growth through feedback, coaching and career development

• Support Team Lead to plan projects, optimize resources Managing project timelines, budget, and talented resources

• Guidance for building the right career for you, whether your goals are to become a technical expert or move into leadership, we have the right support to help you achieve your goals

What you bring to the team:

• Minimum 2 years AutoCAD and REVIT experience coupled with 5+ years design experience in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems

• Ability to read Architectural, Structural, Electrical drawings with minimal supervision

• Ability to apply prescriptive requirements of plumbing, building and sprinkler codes (i.e. NFPA, BCBC, etc.)

• Experience in performing and delivering accurate detailed site surveys

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proven understanding of a project from concept design to post construction completion

• Have successfully been client facing for aspects of previous work experience

• Able to “sketch” ideas

• Able to communicate ideas effectively in meetings with architects and consultants

• Professional Engineer (PEng), Applied Science Technologist (AScT), or EIT designations are highly preferred

• Additional accreditations like LEED or Passive House are highly sought after
