While we are largely working from home as we continue to navigate this pandemic and support our franchisees, our office is in Mississauga, Ontario, so we’re ideally looking for a candidate in the Greater Toronto Area.

What you do:

Reporting to the Vice-President of National Development and as an integral member of the Development and Franchising team, in this maternity leave back-fill position you will be responsible for supporting Boston Pizza’s growth through National market site evaluation and selection, competitive lease negotiations and by providing economic modelling and demographic analysis to support further growth and expansion.

In this temporary role you will be expected to:

• Manage the National Real Estate portfolio and supporting our franchising community with specific ongoing leasing support;
• Establish and maintain extensive contacts with developers and other members of the real estate community to ensure that Boston Pizza has access to a constant supply of suitable new restaurant sites in order to achieve forecasted new restaurant openings;
• Analyze potential markets and sites using demographic information and other relevant criteria to ensure that they meet Boston Pizza’s standards;
• Initiate and oversee the site approval process;
• Prepare pro-forma information to qualify the economic viability of potential sites;
• Submit lease offers to developers and landlords to secure new sites;
• Liaise with other departments to manage the flow of all required documents and information;
• Liaise with outside suppliers to ensure that proper documentation is secured for each site;
• Remain current on industry trends, innovations, methods, and processes related to real estate and development practices, including traditional and non-traditional growth;

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business management, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate and / or commercial business development (franchising experience preferred);

• Strong negotiating skills and a demonstrated ability to close deals;

• Strong understanding of financial modelling, and proficient in proformas and analytics;
• Experience in developing both short-term and long-range real estate strategies;
• Proficient in financial and demographic site analysis;
• Excellent analytical skills;

• Excellent communication and presentation skills;

• Strong service mindset and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels;
• Action and results oriented;
• Collaborative team player with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships;
• Must be willing and able to travel within Canada;
• Passionate about the brand with a keen interest in the food hospitality industry.
