About the Role

Are you an experienced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Designer for the built environment? Do you have an interest in Smart technology and how it can shape the buildings of the future? Qualified candidates must be able to complete projects independently by applying their knowledge and management skills to projects, from conceptual design through to completion, for both new construction and renovation projects. The primary focus of the position would be the design of telecommunication systems.

Duties

• Design of telecommunication systems across a wide variety of sectors.
• Management of a variety of technology focused projects, such as offices, schools, universities, healthcare, retail, airports, transit facilities, residential, and mixed-use facilities;
• Responsibility for successful delivery and financial success of projects;
• Knowledge of construction best practice to carry our effective site audits and report on installation quality and deficiencies.
• Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in technology and broaden your knowledge base.
• Expertise on division 26, 27, and 28 requirements.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience;
• Certificate or associate degree in telecommunications, computer sciences, electronic or electrical engineering;bachelor’s degree preferred;
• RCDD;
• Valid driver’s license

Nice to Haves:

• DCDC; OSP; RTPM; P.E.; P.Eng; PMP; LEED AP BD+C. CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I

• Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM)

• Knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards (CEC, ASHRAE, VBBL, BCBC, NECB, etc.)
• Understanding of EASE and WIFI modelling

• Must be comfortable presenting and developing relationships with clients.

• Familiar with technologies used in structured cabling and IP networks in the Mobile and Fixed Telecommunications Engineering industry. (Wifi, Cellular, Fiber)
• Ability to interpret product specification sheets and evaluate reasonable network requirements and capabilities of new technologies.
• Ability to assess solution architecture, perform site surveys, and walk-through of customer facilities/networks to further assist sales and engineering efforts.
• Meets and interacts with customer facility, business, and IT staff to gather information for sales and engineering efforts.
