Seasonal Delivery Dispatcher

What you can expect in a typical day

The Dispatcher is primarily responsible for all customer delivery inquiries for heating oil, propane and diesel. This individual will be a point of contact for our customers through trouble-shooting and solving delivery related problems while managing the needs of customers and escalating issues as appropriate. The Dispatcher will also be responsible for ensuring there is time allocated for future bookings based on capacity and demand forecast.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Utilize technology to effectively gather and respond to requests for information for managers, drivers and customers
• Take ownership and is accountable until a problem is resolved
• Perform account maintenance and ensuring information is accurate
• Makes difficult and time sensitive decisions to support business objectives and customer needs
• Research, analyze and evaluate multiple reports to drive efficiencies
• Dispatching for trucks and reviewing driver completions
• Bring forward any concerns to managers
• Able to forecast seasonal demands and resources
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills
• Perform other duties as required to support the overall team

Travel

• Travel is not a requirement for this position.

Education and experience

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience is an asset
• Ability to listen and respond to customer inquiries
• 2-3 years customer service experience required
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving skills, strong analytical skills, excellent computer skills, attention to detail and effective time management
