Norgen Biotek is a leading Canadian biotechnology company focusing on sample preparation for research and diagnostic applications. Established in the Niagara Region in 1998, Norgen manufactures and sells products world-wide, as well as provides R&D and diagnostic services to the scientific community. Norgen is a rapidly growing company, and is looking to immediately recruit a Sanitation Cleaneras outlined below.

Norgen is an essential business and is manufacturing kits that are used in the research and diagnosis of COVID-19.

Job Location: Thorold, Ontario, Canada

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5:30pm (possibly varying hours)

General Duties

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.

• Gather and empty trash.

• Sanitizing any commonly touched items (door handles, sick faucet, fridge handles, shared phones etc)

• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a cleaner/janitor is an absolute requirement(Freelance experience is acceptable)
• Knowledge of proper and thorough cleaning techniques
• Strong communication skills
• Positive attitude
• High attention to detail is essential
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
