Work Requirement

This role will be based out of our Vancouver office and is full time onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in protein purification of multispecific antibodies to support research programs.
  • Characterize protein therapeutics by analytical and biophysical methods, either independently or in collaboration with teammates.
  • Design, plan and execute experiments to screen libraries of multispecific antibody-based therapeutics through binding or activity assays.
  • Troubleshoot methods, suggest improvements, and develop new technologies for project advancement.
  • Analyze data, draw conclusions, and participate in cross-departmental activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and operational lab.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with scientific standards, OH&S regulations and established policies and practices.
  • Actively work to foster an environment of effective and collaborative working relationships across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A BSc in a relevant scientific discipline (biochemistry, immunology, structural biology etc.) and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience or a MSc and up to 2 years of related experience.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional team.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high paced, fast changing environment.

Skills and Abilities

  • The candidate is expected to have good working knowledge and hands-on experience in some of the following areas:
    • Proficiency in protein purification (e.g. protein A/G/L, IEX, IMAC, or SEC) and familiarity with AKTA (FPLC) system.
    • Knowledge in protein analytical techniques such as PAGE, CE-SDS, HPLC-SEC, Western Blotting, ELISA, DSC, DSF or MALS.
    • Binding kinetics by one of the following methods: SPR, BLI, Kinexa.
    • Basic knowledge of Developability assays.
    • Good oral presentation and scientific/technical writing skills.
      • Ability to present data at team and inter-departmental meetings.
