The Opportunity:

We are looking for a R&D project Lead to join our team! This role will work on a project to improve our products. Conducting research, and experiments, coordinating and executing full-scale production testing, and so much more! TMRW Foods is kicking off an exciting Research & Development Project, starting in Aug 2022. This role will report to the Product Development Manager, but we are looking for a pro-active, passionate, and self-driven R&D Project Lead to take this project through its 3 phases- Initial research, targeted research, and application testing.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your food knowledge and creativity to help develop and improve our delicious, plant-based products! The challenge is to balance your passion for innovation with your ability to achieve deadlines and effectively manage constraints in a fast-paced food production environment.

Key Duties:

• Reports to R & D Management Level, conducts prototype development and scientific experimentation contributing to new knowledge, products, or technology on an ongoing basis and communicates all relevant matters pertaining to Research & Development.
• Design, plan, and execute experiments and trials at all scales, gathering and analyzing data, reporting results, and making recommendations for further testing and next steps.
• Maintain detailed, comprehensive records of formulations, process parameters, finished product results, sensory evaluation, and next steps
• Acquires and maintains the necessary technical skills and scientific knowledge through reading and training in new technologies.
• Evaluates raw materials, product formulae and food applications.
• Perform literature research and bench test of product development, to resolve technical issues such as: food safety, food stability, shelf-life, scalability, cost, nutritional and ingredient guidelines, etc.
• Able to demonstrate basic Food Science knowledge in chemistry and microbiology to be applied in ingredient functionality, formulation, and processing and be able to formulate new products based on that knowledge

What We’re Looking For:

Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or above in Food Science/Technology, with 2-3 years experience in a hands-on R&D role carrying out lab/benchtop tests. You will have proven analytical, research and development experience and apply those skills to solving technical challenges. You will be interested in the plant-based space, have a sound knowledge of nutrition and are passionate about innovating.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Salary: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
