Job Description:

Quality Assurance Technician - Food Manufacturing

Apex Systems is searching for a Quality Assurance Technician for our food industry client located in Brampton, ON. Our client is a food manufacturer that manufacturers ready-to-eat meat products. They are looking for a QA Technician for a 6-month contract position working on the afternoon shift. Candidates must be available to work Monday to Friday, 2:30PM to 10:30PM, and must be comfortable working in a facility that processes meat. Applicants that are quick learners with a positive attitude are an asset.

Responsibilities include:

• Check raw materials, in-process, and finished product
• Report quality deviations and put product on hold
• Environmental swabbing
• Check CCPs, GMP and HACCP documentation
• Environmental swabbing
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma or B. Sc. in Food Science, Microbiology or related
• 1+ years experience in food quality assurance preferred but not required
• Experience working in a food facility with meat is preferred
• Assertive, confident personality
• Detail-oriented
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude
