Project Manager - 1 Year Term

The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) offers challenging and exciting careers in health and social services delivery and administration in Canada’s North. Located in Yellowknife and reporting to the Director, Quality Risk and Client Experience, the Project Manager is responsible for managing the strategic planning, monitoring and implementation of various medium to large size projects throughout the NTHSSA within the Quality Risk and Client Experience Division. The Project Manager will also develop plans for and oversee implementation of NTHSSA Quality, Risk and Client Experience projects in collaboration with DHSS, HRHSSA and TCSA. These projects
include medium to large NTHSSA, HRHSSA, TCSA priority projects such as Accreditation, single policy and procedure framework for NTHSSA, Quality Indicator and
Scorecard development, Choosing Wisely project implementation, Informatics and Health Technology projects, etc.

The Project Manager applies project management methodology to: project planning, risk management and contingency planning, communication, monitoring and project and program evaluation techniques to ensure that project implementation is done efficiently and that outcomes meet all project requirements.

Typically, the above qualifications are attained by:

A bachelor’s degree in an business administration, science, engineering or public administration field, plus a minimum of four years of progressive project management or management experience that includes as part of the four years a minimum of one year working in the Canadian health and social services system, plus two years in a project management role managing medium to large size projects.
