PROJECT CONTROLLER
The Opportunity:
Irving Forest Services is currently seeking a Project Controller to join our team, based in Saint John, New Brunswick.
As a Project Controller, you will:
- Develop & maintain a detailed project cost reporting structure to ensure effective tracking and analysis of purchase commitments, receipts, accruals, forecasts and variances, for periodic review with Area Leads, Project Manager and Director of Finance
- Reconcile Project approvals, commitments and charges to E1 & trouble shoot issues
- Review new requisitions & Work Orders to align with project reporting requirements
- Update & monitor period end cutoff, receipts & accruals
- Reconcile Lien bank accounts & to details of outstanding holdbacks
- Monitor invoice approvals to ensure timely processing aligning with contract milestones
- Review and track mill-level direct and indirect Project costs for Project cost reporting
- Prepare weekly cash requirement reports and coordinate approval with Pulp & Paper Director of Finance & Lenders
- Prepare weekly progress & ETC reports, and grade contractor performance for review with Area Leads and the Project Manager
- Lead project cost review meetings, reporting life to date spending, forecast & variances
- Support Director of Finance in discussion with Head Office and Lenders
- Review all project spending to ensure tax classifications comply with JDI requirements
- Analyze & forecast project components that meet CRA available for use guidelines and coordinate internal review prior to each year end

You Have:
- Proven success in a similar Project Controller role, working closely with Lenders, Project Team and senior finance management
- Professional accounting designation or equivalent, with post-graduation experience in project cost analysis and reporting
- Experienced/skilled user of Excel & Microsoft Office products
- Experienced user of E1 would be a definite asset
- Excellent organizational & communication skills
- Adept at working independently and as part of a team
- Effective at managing change and multiple tasks in small group settings and across diverse groups
