Our Emergency Lighting manufacturing facility in Dorval, Canada is hiring a Procurement Manager to handle its procurement and logistics team within the Smart Building division, Hub Building & Home Automation Solutions. You will be deciding on and implementing plans for local sourcing to achieve business targets and assist regional and global sourcing initiatives.

Reporting to the Global Procurement Manager & the Manufacturing Unit Manager, you will drive excellence in the execution of procurement and logistics strategies that aids the business by optimizing costs, quality and reliability of suppliers and supplied products. You will take care for the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of procurement & logistics activities, applying and implementing standards, tools and processes to ensure good quality, on-time delivery, optimal costs, and sustainability. This position is graded as 12, and you will manage a team of procurement specialists.

Your responsibilities
  • Managing & developing a team of procurement specialists within HR policies and Group Procurement & Logistics excellence guidelines to ensure Procurement activities are meeting objectives and expectations.
  • Implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business & category, regional/global Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) strategies to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Securing compliance and full utilization ABB global tools and processes including process optimization and standardization as well as implementing programs to drive improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and business continuity in accordance with Group PL guidelines and local Business/Business Line objectives. This includes execution of Procurement activities in support of product development, business continuity and lifecycle management projects.
  • Owning KPIs to drive performance improvement including planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost, budgets, emerging country sourcing spending, savings forecasts, and contractual requirements.
  • Owning internal and supplier performance, quality and development actions while resolving issues related to costs, quality and delivery.
  • Executing effective and transparent communication internally, externally and between different units and centers to drive cross-functional collaboration.
Your background
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in management & strategic / technical purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a technical or industrial global matrix environment is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or other relevant coursework.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Erp systems.
  • Demonstrated influence skills, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
  • High comfort level in leading change in a fast-paced environment and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Availability to travel.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, in both English and French languages.
