Pro Desk Sales Associate

Full-time, Permanent Position

For those of you with strong customer service skills and a passion for sales, this position is a great steppingstone for advancement to Outside Sales or even Store management in the building material supply industry. Employee advancement is the key to our success.

Here at Hermans Pro Desk Sales Associates are the face of our local area store(s). You will be assisting Contractors and even homeowners with material selection and order entry. Our customer relies on our knowledgeable staff to assist them with the right products in a timely manner. Building a relationship and assisting our customers by identifying solutions using Herman’s Supply Company’s full product & service offerings. Servicing our customers’ needs is a top priority, and individuals in this role must have thorough knowledge across all departments. Strong & professional communication skills are a must. A H Pro Desk Sales Associate will enhance the customer experience and value of Herman’s Supply Company.

Job Summary

You work with your customers to improve their business. Helping them win.
  • Developing ongoing relations with customer of Herman’s Supply Company and our Suppliers
  • Proactively driving sales, through existing customer growth and/or generating new prospects & leads
  • Providing & managing customer pricing & quotes
  • Processing inbound orders, via In store, Email, Phone, Text
  • Handling inbound customer calls.
  • Managing and developing an assigned customer base using our CRM
  • Working with logistics to meet customer demands and requirements
  • Meet or exceed sales goals while driving a strong customer experience
  • Handle customer complaints in a positive and constructive manner
  • Review and verify proper material is loaded and delivered and complete associated shipping paperwork
  • Become highly knowledgeable in all products. Attend training courses as required by management concerning store procedures, and products.
  • Strictly adhere to and comply with all health and safety rules, regulations, and legislation

Requirements

Successful team members must:
  • Self-starter, and highly Motivated
  • Having a valid G license, with clean abstract, an asset
  • Have a strong customer service attitude and enjoy interacting with customers
  • Intermediate to advanced analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to build working relationships
  • Intermediate proficiency in the MS Office Suite is needed
  • Flexible hours
  • Provide a clean police background check
  • Ability to follow oral or written instructions; read and acknowledge completion of work orders
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
  • Ideal candidates will have demonstrated and proven sales experience
