Job Description

Mirantis is adding a Partner Solution Architect to our team! As part of the Partner team, your work is to identify or create solutions for complex real-world problems through technical prowess, collaboration, versatility, and creativity. You will work externally with our partners and internally with product management, marketing, and engineering teams to assess, document, prototype, and demonstrate Partner products working in conjunction with Mirantis products focussed on use-cases. You will support outbound activities such as webinars and solution briefs. You will enable our Sales team in regards to Partner products and the joint solution.

The Partner Solution Architect position offers candidates expansive opportunities for professional growth across a variety of business and technology domains. Main Responsibilities

• Lead Partner Product Technical Assessment pulling in engineering or other technical resources as needed. This will include evaluating compatibility with Mirantis products, ensuring alignment with Mirantis roadmaps, and synthesis of a joint proposition that addresses Mirantis customer needs.

• Develop, jointly with the Partner, the Solution Reference architecture that incorporates best practices of using the two products together. Develop a POC, jointly with the partner, that could be used as part of customer sales process or webinars or training.

• Develop demos that might exemplify specific use-cases, or particular benefits of the joint solution.

• Support, as needed, validation of Partner products.

• Play a leading role in enabling the Mirantis sales team in regards to partner product technical capabilities and joint solution. This will include white papers/solution briefs, TOI sessions, and demos as necessary.

• Help outbound activities associated with the joint solution by leading or participating in webinars hosted by either Partner or Mirantis.

• Establish relationships as a trusted advisor to technical influencers and decision makers

• Influence Mirantis product direction by considering Partner product integration, testing, supportability, and solution requirements. Serve as Partner product champion within Mirantis.

Desired Skills

• Practical understanding of distributed systems, software development practices, application architecture, and DevOps philosophies.

• Modern telco architecture

  • RAN, SDN, NFVi, VIM, NFV orchestration (MANO) or specific VNFs, python and move towards containerization

  • 5G/Edge system architecture

  • Ability to represent Mirantis in open source telco efforts such as Telecom Infra Project (TIP)

• Hands-on experience with (subset of):

  • Open source software

  • Cloud Infrastructure - OpenStack, VMWare, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services

  • Microservices and/or container frameworks - Docker, Kubernetes, and adjacent technologies

  • Software-defined-networking, virtualization, automated bare-metal provisioning, software-defined-storage, relational and noSQL database, identity and security engineering, architecture or design

  • Automation, DevOps and CICD tooling - spinnaker, ansible, puppet, salt, terraform, vault, git, jenkins, gerrit, docker, packer, repository management etc

  • OSS systems for infrastructure monitoring, logging and alerting

Qualifications

• 
  High School diploma or equivalent required, four year college degree preferred

• 8+ years of software engineering with 5+ years as a software/infrastructure engineer or architect in the telecommunications industry

• Hands-on proficiency with Linux (CLI)

• Practical understanding of IP networking (L2-L4), including route, switch, load-balancing and firewalls

• Proficiency with at least one scripting/programming language or tool (bash, python, ansible etc)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and demonstrations

• Ability to be productive in a globally-distributed team
