Position Summary

This position involves telecom requirements for the Calgary Stampede including installation, repair and movement of IP telephones and internet services and liaising with external customers to coordinate services.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Install, remove, move, repair, make changes to and make additions to fixed and event IP telephones and internet services
• Collaborate with electronics technicians to set-up and hook-up audio visual equipment.
• Coordinate telecom services with service vendors and account representatives.
• Perform select administrative duties, including generating and distributing monthly long distance reports, providing telecom related job quotes and ensuring that telephone documentation is updates and filed.
• Perform voice mail changes, maintain music on hold system and prerecorded announcement system and acquire proper authorization to perform any work.
• Utilize specialized instruments to perform line locates.

Qualifications

• Registered in a co-op eligible post-secondary program working towards a degree or diploma in a technical program for IT infrastructure management.
• Management skills and current routing and switching technologies for installation and operational support of enterprise network infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of key technical aspects of IP telephones, audio visual equipment and IT infrastructure technologies.
• Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
