Viterra is seeking a Manager, Property Administration at our Regina Head Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all real estate requirements, including maintenance of leases, land acquisition, divestitures, and property management. The position is also accountable for the Regina building maintenance and capital project program, the demolition of closed assets, dispersal of surplus equipment/inventory for organization as required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts negotiations for the acquisition of property, tenders property, and facilitates the sale.
  • Manages the property administration process for acquisitions and divestitures including the preparation of all correspondence, arrangement of agreements and legal documents.
  • In conjunction with Asset Protection Services, arranges for environmental assessments of all property acquisitions and disposals and the decommissioning of chemical storage buildings and property prior to their disposal within established policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains Primary elevator, Vendor and Equipment Dealer licenses with various regulatory agencies to ensure the continued operation of facilities and/or equipment.
  • Administers railway property leases, siding agreements, and other related agreements with the railways as well as independently negotiating and/or participating in their negotiations.
  • Develops and maintains property and facility information database, including electronic files, central station files and legal certificates of title.
  • Represents organization on various Country Elevator Association sub committees (i.e. Saskatchewan, Tax, Site Rental and Track).
  • Manages the road maintenance, including analysis and negotiation with local levels of government.
  • Manages the dispersal of surplus equipment and inventory.
  • Manages the property tax function including property tax payment, property assessment appeals, and property tax and assessment negotiations with municipal governments.
  • Participates in the planning, development and ongoing management of capital projects.
  • Accountable for the maintenance and reliability program of the Regina building and assets.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and communication applications within a Windows-based environment.
  • Effective building maintenance experience (boilers, chemical tests, repairs).
Education and Qualifications:
  • Secondary degree in Commerce with a major in Urban Land Economics or three (3) year diploma in Business Administration.
  • Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in administration or related work
Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.
