The Role

The Manager of IT Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the IT department within an organization, including managing the network, security, and server operations team. This team is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of computer systems, networks, and software applications. The manager of IT operations ensures that the organization’s technology infrastructure is reliable, secure, and efficient while adhering to industry best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of IT professionals responsible for managing the network, security, and server operations, as well as maintaining and supporting the organization’s technology infrastructure.
• Work with Governance, Risk and Compliance Team to Develop and implement policies and procedures for IT operations and security, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Oversee the deployment, installation, and configuration of hardware and software systems.
• Monitor network and system performance, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to IT services, hardware, and software procurement.
• Ensure data security, backup, and recovery plans are in place and tested regularly.
• Develop and manage the IT Operations budget, ensuring all expenditures are within budget and in alignment with the organization’s goals.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure technology solutions are aligned with business objectives and strategies.
• Stay current with technology trends, providing recommendations for the adoption of new technologies or upgrades to existing systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong understanding of network, security, and server administration, as well as performance monitoring.
• Familiarity with industry best practices such as ITIL, CIS v8, NIST 800-53, and ISO 27001.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
