The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Global Digital Experience, you will be responsible for the employee experience with WSP’s intranet – helping to build a virtual office fostering effective communication, connecting people, and creating a sense of community and belonging.

As the owner of this experience, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams at the global and regional levels of WSP, as well as consultants and/or external technology providers.

In a context of rapid organizational growth, where opportunities abound for people who love to build and collaborate, this is an opportunity to be a key player in shaping the digital experience of over 50,000 WSP professionals across the world.

This position does not include personnel management and can be based from another city for the right candidate.

A day in the life:

  • Take ownership of the implementation of a new intranet by working with technology providers, consultants, and cross-functional teams to meet the defined needs of the business:
    • Collaborate on project roadmap and milestones.
    • Ensure the implementation of the information architecture, primary landing pages, and major components in line with best practices for UX and UI.
    • Collaborate on the change management and adoption initiatives around the launch.
  • Build relationships and gain buy-in of stakeholders at all levels to encourage positive change management and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement the intranet governance strategy, including the set-up and coordination of an intranet management group consisting of senior leaders from key stakeholder groups globally, including Communications, Human Resources and IT.
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders (mainly Communications and Human Resources functions), develop and maintain guidance for effective intranet publishing and standards to ensure engaging content that meets the needs of the business.
  • Lead a global community of content owners and content editors, coordinating efforts of this decentralized group and encouraging collaboration and best practices, resulting in a more consistent approach.
  • Ensure user satisfaction is monitored and actioned upon in an agile manner to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Provide support to global and regional content editors ensuring they have the knowledge, tools and skillset required for their roles.
  • Monitor intranet usage and provide insightful analytics to key stakeholders to demonstrate the effectiveness of the intranet and/or to uncover new opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain a good understanding of industry best practices and new technological opportunities that can add value to WSP’s digital experience with the intranet.
  • Manage the on-going evolution of the intranet, including the backlog and priorities based on what will drive the highest value for WSP.

We’d love to hear from you if you have ...

  • Diploma in Communications, Digital Marketing/ Media, IT or any related field5 to 10 years of experience in managing large web-based and digital projects in an international setting
  • Experience in managing and implementing intranets, preferably in a large professional services firm, is highly valued for this role
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of Usability, User Experience, and information architecture, including a high-level of comfort with web-based technologies
  • Strong understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS)
  • Project Management experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of SharePoint is an asset
  • Client-oriented, agile and solutions focused
  • Pioneer profile, comfortable in a fast-paced role, proven ability to perform in a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and business acumen with a proven ability to influence and effect change in an organisation
  • Motivated by teamwork, collaboration, and the achievement of concrete results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset)
