The position will lead a cross-functional team responsible for the technical development of the global Freighter operation. Working with various stakeholders, they will define the aircraft specification, introduction, and grow airside operations. The incumbent will work closely with the branch on route expansions and station start-up activities, ensuring that global ground handling aligns with standard operating procedures and that the freighter operation meets performance and quality objectives. The position will be responsible and accountable for the development and supervision of special operating plans requiring technical approval and justifications for safe execution.

Key Functions:
  • Lead the research, development and implementation of solutions for Cargo freighter operations
  • Provide clear direction to the Training team towards development of freighter content
  • Provide technical freighter leadership to direct reports and key players
  • Lead industry with expertise and develop a strong network of industry leaders
  • Ensure timely responses to commercial requests, inquires and sales leads
  • Ensure compliance to the Branch Engineering Operating System
  • Develop performance monitoring tools and procedures and identify opportunities for improvements; apply change implementation process
  • Review and follow up on performance and quality of freighter operations
  • Provide freighter subject matter expertise to support the Regulatory & Procedures and Operations Engineering teams
  • Prepare presentations to deliver key stakeholders and senior management
  • Review analysis and make recommendations for improvement
  • Strong engagement with front-line and Customer Service employees to ensure understanding and instill confidence in delivery of new products

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree: Engineering or Business preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Proven Cargo and Airport operations experience

  • Quality Management principles or ISO certification training is an asset

  • Lean Six Sigma belt is an asset

  • Experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Process Management, workshop facilitation

  • Strong capabilities in Microsoft 365 suite

  • Proven leadership abilities

  • Results and action-oriented, tempered by an ability to manage the pace of change with empathy

  • Detail-oriented, precise, well-structured, and organized

  • Strong problem-solving skills, and an aptitude for dealing with ambiguity

  • Capable of working effectively and enthusiastically as a team player

  • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills

  • International travel required
