Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, and working with our Contract Manufacturing, 3PL warehouse locations and internal teams to manage:
  • Transportation of Delta-Q battery chargers, accessories, and materials worldwide
  • Logistics spend and budget
  • Global warehousing and transportation strategy and alignment
  • Import and export compliance requirements

This role will also directly lead and support a small team of warehouse and logistics employees.

This position will be based in Burnaby, BC at Delta-Q’s main office.

Specific Duties:
  • Manages all logistics carriers for both scheduling and pricing negotiations.
  • Aligns with ZAPI Group requirements for global logistics where required.
  • Manages import and export compliance of products worldwide.
  • Proactively identifies improvements for product transportation, warehouse costs or strategy.
  • Manages all 3PLs for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Handles 3PL contract implementation, KPI requirements and process alignment.
  • Arranges with Planning and Sales Operations teams on order requirements and customer delivery requirements, while establishing processes for order delivery.
  • Manages product rework either internally or working with cross functional teams as needed.
  • Improves product packing to ensure it arrives in good condition to global customer locations.
  • Manages expedited freight quoting and department budget tracking.
  • Manages shipments from factory locations to warehouse or end customer destinations.
  • Develops and maintains strong professional working relationships with government agencies, officials and industry counterparts.
  • Performs effective talent management of employees and participates in all employee development activities including but not limited to recruitment, retention, and performance management.
  • Provides leadership and coaching to ensure employees meet job responsibilities and objectives.
  • Identifies and champions improvements to processes and logistics requirements.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements
  • Previous senior level experience in Logistics, Operations, Warehousing, Transportation, or Distribution coupled with relevant education.
  • Proven working experience managing major projects.
  • Experience in international freight, delivery, incoterms and distribution.
  • Thorough knowledge of global custom rules and regulations and previous experience in managing Freight.
  • Demonstrated success in working with U.S. CBP and other government agencies on a wide range of regulatory and technical issues related to customs.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff System and experience managing complex valuation scenarios for customs requirements.
  • Experience in reverse logistics management.
  • Proficiency working in a Windows based environment, including Word and Excel and SAP.
  • Possess excellent written/oral communications and presentation skills and sound business judgment.
  • Understands and practices a values-based approach to employee development and coaching.
  • Must be independent, self-directed and able to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • A willingness to proactively adapt to evolving situations.
  • Consistently exhibit and model Delta-Q’s company values (Collaboration, Perseverance, Innovation, Driving Results).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, MS PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must be able to travel internationally.
