Description

The Lift Maintenance Supervisor is in a highly visible role and maintains a high-functioning work environment, providing an outstanding experience for guests via the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of ski lifts. The Supervisor is focused on safety, efficiency, and being approachable and courteous always towards lift passengers. The Lift Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Lift Manager, and liaises frequently with the Mountain Operations departments, other maintenance personnel, vendors and manufacturers.

Job Functions
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the work and actions of employees within the Lift Maintenance department. Attention to detail in critical aspects of maintenance (preventive, corrective, operational) is required.

Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities:
o Timely completion of documentation e.g. maintenance logs, employee training, PM records.
o Maintaining effective and complete part inventories e.g. tracking and ordering.
o Maintaining effective schedules and properly assigning department tasks to meet business needs.
o Conducting performance reviews, assist in hiring, corrective actions and terminations.
o Communicating and adhering to company initiatives and policies, relevant legislation and manufacturer guidelines, etc.
o Performing documented, accurate worksite inspections.
o Timely and accurate reporting of all incidents and deficiencies to appropriate departments/personnel.
o Ensure department functions are successfully completed in a timely manner.
Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.

Experience/Requirements
  • Proven ability to lead a team and be self-motivated.
  • Willing/able to perform all duties or departmental tasks.
  • Outgoing, positive, social and friendly attitude.
  • Prepared to work flexible schedules e.g. weekends, holidays, nights, extended hours.
  • Prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions e.g. appropriate footwear, layers, gloves.
  • Calm under pressure and patient.
  • Good time management.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
  • Work in a confidential capacity.
  • Maintain professional conduct when knowingly acting as a company representative on or off duty.
  • Effectively provide training, support and assistance to coworkers.
  • Conduct, attend and actively participate in meetings and training inside and outside of department.
  • Must be neat, alert, punctual and dependable.
  • Valid Alberta vehicle operator’s license.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Outlook) and online systems is preferred.
Additional Considerations
  • Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
  • This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, constant trunk rotation, frequent lifting, pushing/pulling of equipment, parts and tools (up to 45 kg). Mechanics may occasionally climb ladders or inclined stairs up to 5m. Must be able to hike and move around easily in a remote, alpine environment.
  • Working at heights up to 20m.
  • This role operates machinery, off-road/highway vehicles and works around moving equipment.
  • Uniform pieces (liner, outer jacket, outer pants, toque, collared shirt) are provided.
  • Candidates are required to provide CSA approved safety footwear.
  • This role has potential exposure to industrial chemicals e.g. solvents, oils, grease.
This role is subject to the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and HR Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
