Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)

Job Duties
1. The successful applicant will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, security and day-to-day operations of the Computer Engineering Technology program computer networks and electronics labs on the Moose Jaw Campus that fall within the School of Mining, Energy & Manufacturing.
2. Troubleshoot electronics equipment.
3. Assist instructors in the preparation of materials and equipment used in the lab/shop and provide support for the instructor during the lab/shop delivery.
4. Ensure labs/shops and equipment meet all safety regulations and compliance.
5. Maintain a system of safe disposal of materials.
6. Ensure security of labs, shops, and equipment.
7. Receive, store, and dispense consumable items in consultation with the shipping and receiving department and ensuring to follow shipping and receiving procedures.
8. Provide research and recommendations related to purchasing supplies and equipment. Coordinate and initiate purchasing of approved supplies and lab/shop equipment.
9. Ensure tools and shop/lab equipment are maintained in serviceable condition. Arrange for major repair of equipment if required. Coordinate replacement and/or repair of damaged or broken tools and equipment.
10. Conduct regular performance checks and repairs of lab/shop equipment.
11. Keep an up-to-date inventory record and maintenance scheduling system.
12. Prepare documentation concerning general lab/shop operations and procedures.
13. Follow all academic regulations and/or policies adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic and/or individual campus.
14. Practice good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
15. Attend staff, program, and division meetings.
16. Travel may be required.

Specific Accountabilities

Duties

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
1. Diploma in one of the following: Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Technology, Electronic Systems Engineering Technology, Design and Manufacturing Engineering Technology, CAD/CAM Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
2. Member of/or eligible for certification with TPSK as an A.Sc.T.
3. Valid driver’s license.
4. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, familiarity with learning management systems, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
5. Effective communication (both oral and written) skills.
6. Effective interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and supervisors.
8. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
9. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
