Your Impact:


We’re looking for an Interface Project Manager, here in Toronto who is excited to help deliver some of the largest Transit / Rail projects in Canadian history. You’ll be part of a team that will act as the glue holding a massive and complex program together. It also entails building relationships and engaging with a wide variety of experts from project delivery teams, asset management, operational readiness, schedulers, technical leads, property, commercial leads, access coordination teams, construction, design, third party developments, utilities, environment, external stakeholders, and other teams to ensure efficient collaboration and minimize program risk.

You’ll have demonstrated understanding and application of the knowledge and skill required in support of our client’s program management team; and is familiar with most of the technologies and delivery methods and models such as Design Build (DB), and Public Private Partnerships (PPP) and collaborative delivery models.

  • As the Interface Project Manager, you’ll identify and manage the closure of project interface related issues and other deliverables with key stakeholders.
  • Lead the activities of support functions, co-ordinate, facilitate and consolidate the interface requirements between the project and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the establishment and implementation of clear management plans with focus on project closeout interface requirements.
  • Provide coordination and oversight over multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders
  • Undertake site visits as required to monitor progress of the work and identify areas of concern to the contractor
  • Provide specialist advice and support to Project Management and the commercial team resolving internal and external project interfaces.
  • Ensures the management of safety is paramount and implements sector best practice processes and procedures.
  • Build strong relationships and competently communicate and negotiate with the stakeholders, including project team members, contractors, and consultants to ensure work is prioritized and delivered on time and to appropriate quality standards, government, and community requirements.

Here’s What You’ll Need:


1. Proven work experience in complex contracts and solid understanding of various types of agreements and project management principles.
2. Demonstrated ability achieving an integrated approach to delivering projects in the rail and transit industry.
3. Multidisciplinary knowledge of civil, track, structural, electrification, construction management and signaling and train control systems. Field oversight experience of such infrastructure is an asset.
4. A highly driven and positive individual who can be an excellent representation of the interface management team. To be able to think outside the box and be creative in identifying ways to bring teams together to get stakeholder buy-in on critical matters.
5. Highly developed written communication and computer literacy skills to compile and develop professional, technical, and quality documentation of a complex nature.
6. Proven ability to exercise excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to pre-empt and mitigate project risks.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and work productively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and provide professional guidance, to influence multi-disciplinary teams and to be an effective team player.

You’ll also need:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience is required preferably in the rail and transit industry.
  • Experience with Design Build or PPP contracts is an advantage.
  • Completion of a degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent. Professional Engineer license is considered desirable but not essential.
  • Valid Project Management Professional (PMP) license would be considered an asset, or professional designation deemed equivalent (within or outside of Canada).
  • Sound understanding and practical experience of contract administration and document management software.
