Industrial Networks Specialist

Purpose:

Provide sales and technical support for Graybar Canada’s Comm/Data and Industrial Automation teams, focused on the pursuit of network and security services opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Delivery of Industrial Network services to enable customers to realize the Connected Enterprise by building a robust, reliable network to support their operations.
• Perform network, cybersecurity and wireless assessments and designs
• Perform machine-level OEM and small to mid-End User plant-level Network Designs to provide the network details necessary to procure, install, and configure a network.
• Perform configuration of small to medium-sized virtualization solutions (ie. VersaVirtual Installation-Rockwell Industrial Data Center)
• Instal Rockwell Soctware, virtual appliances and thin clients
• Communicate with and educate engineering, consultants and end users on best practices and technological advances
• Prepare sales proposals with detailed scope of work documentation
• Articulate impact to and requirement of the manufacturing network as it relates to industrial automation equipment
• Present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders at all levels of an organization

Preferred/Required Technical Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, CET or Information Technology or related technical driven degree
• 3+ years Network Engineer or related experience
• Converged Plantwide Ethernet (CPwE) Design Guide Understanding
• Understanding of ISA, ANNS, NEMA, NEC and NIST standards
• Analytical, Problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Sales experience would be considered an asset
• Hands-on experience configuring IT equipment (Cisco, VMware, IP Security, etc.)
• Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in Automation and complementary products areas.
