Position: Human Resources Generalist
Location: Toronto, ON
Description:
The Human Resources Generalist position is responsible for coordinating and performing assigned payroll functions in an accurate, complete and timely manner. Provide excellent customer service and assistance to payroll related inquiries.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Review and verify timecard totals and contacts appropriate manager with questions
- Implement timecard approval and verify hours are approved in timekeeping system
- Provide support to employees and third parties upon request concerning payroll, deductions, vacation, employment verification and other inquiries
- Submit garnishments, levies and child support orders to the corporate office for processing
- Follow established approval processes when making adjustments to correct any paycheck discrepancies
- Receive commission information from accounting department and report to payroll for payout
- Process all terminations and request manual checks when necessary
- Collect benefit time sheets and upload time off for payroll processing
- Sort and distribute paychecks on a bi-weekly basis
- Audit payroll information for accuracy
- Support and administration of internal management system
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion.
- Processes personnel action forms and assures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms.
- Prepares paperwork required to place employee on payroll and establishes personnel file.
- Provides HR related training to front-line employees
- Conducts employee relations investigations and provides timely resolution
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- CHRP certification preferred
- 2-4 years of HR related work experience, including employee relations
- Knowledge of federal and state laws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products
