Discovery Co-operative is hiring a Student for our HR Summer Student Development Program for our Administration Department located in North Battleford, SK. This is a temporary position and will run from June 5 until August 25 2023.

What you’ll do:

In this work placement, you will provide support to Human Resources by assisting with various projects, programs and initiatives within the Human Resources Department. Primary Responsibilities will include:

· General Administration

Updates, creates and maintains metrics, documents and files, prepare minutes, memos, letters and other documentation as required. This may include the maintaining and updating information in HR Information systems to ensure they are accurate and up to date. Routinely handles confidential information.

· Department Support / Partner in HR Projects as Assigned:

Provides support to assigned leaders and work closely with other HR professionals throughout the Human Resources Department on a variety of projects and special assignments, including:

o Supporting the talent acquisition and onboarding activities, including recruitment fairs

o Performance management summer project

o Updating job profiles

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Human Resources and:

· Have successfully completed a minimum of one-year post-secondary education from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.

· Demonstrated strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills in academic, community and extracurricular activities.

· Proven ability to be discreet and keep all information and documentation strictly confidential.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· A high proficiency in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).

· Must be interested in a progressive retail career within the Co-operative Retailing System.

· Previous retail experience is an asset

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
