Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops is seeking a Guest Services Associate that is passionate about creating memorable experiences for guests. The Guest Services Associate has the opportunity to grow their customer service skills through daily interactions with guests while learning from an experienced hotel leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consistently provides thoughtful, caring and sincere service. The Guest Services team plays a key role in creating a memorable experience for guests from the moment they check into the hotel
  • Follow company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of employees.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time; Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Process all guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and room change/late check-out requests. Answer, record, and process all guest calls, requests, questions, or concerns; follow up to ensure each has been met to guests’ satisfaction. Cash-guests’ checks, process all payment types, vouchers, paid-outs, charges, and provide change. Notify Loss Prevention/Security of any reports of theft.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
  • Helps guests with luggage and valet vehicles as needed
  • Deliver on-call items to guest rooms when required, and support Bell Services, Housekeeping Services and all other departments as required.
  • Shift work may vary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 year’s customer service experience; Minimum of 1-year experience as a Guest Service Associate/ Front Desk at a full-service hotel an asset
  • Experience using Opera an asset
  • University Degree an asset. Hotel Management/Hospitality Degree an asset
  • Possess a positive attitude and is a strong team player
  • Proven ability to navigate multiple reservation systems
  • Strong Customer Service, Communication and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Ability to maintain professional and patient during high stress situations
  • Organized and detailed oriented
  • Solid understanding of computers, internet and technology
