BURNCO’s BC Ready-Mix Divisionis recruiting a Form Yard Worker for our Ready-Mix division in Vernon, BC. Reporting to the Form Yard Foreman, the duties vary from day to day depending on customer requirements. The role will be primarily assembling form package orders, cleaning and maintaining the forms, constructing new forms or swamping with the delivery truck. Stripping, re assembling and oiling lock block forms. Our concrete form yard is an integral part of our business, being used by contractors for forming up foundations to have BURNCO concrete poured in residential construction projects. This is a full time, seasonal role to start.

Location: Vernon, British Columbia

What You Will Be Doing

All responsibilities below are deemed required and are variable in frequency:

• Construction and maintenance of wood forms
• Cleaning and oiling concrete forms
• Assisting the Crane truck with form deliveries to customers’ sites
• Safe operation of a Forklift to load and move forms
• Operate hand tools
• Other duties as required
  
  

Reality of the Job

• You will work long hours during peak times and demand
• You’ll be working Monday through Friday (and weekends from time-to-time as required)
  
  

Requirements

What We Would Like From You

• Experience working with wood concrete forms is an asset
• Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs / 23+ kgs
• Class 5 license required
• Capable of working in all weather conditions
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment
• Display and maintain a strong and positive work ethic, following all instructions as issued by the Form Yard Foreman
• Enjoy working independently and within a team
• Successful candidate must have a track record of being punctual and reliable; being at work every day and on time is a core requirement
• Forklift operating experience is considered an asset
• Having experience or knowledge of the concrete and construction materials industry would be an asset
