TeraSpan Networks Inc is a growing Telecommunications contractor with locations throughout BC. We are currently looking for a Fiber Drop Technician interested in joining our Kelowna based team. This is a full-time permanent position offering competitive wages and benefits. We are willing to train the right candidate who can demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

This work will be completed throughout the Okanagan, so the ability to spend some periods of time away from home from time to time will be necessary.

Primary responsibilities of the Fiber Drop Technician are as follows:

· Solid Record Keeping – Work will be across the Okanagan for customers with pending inside install for fiber TV and Internet. Being organized, collecting the correct pictures and sign off information in an intelligent and thorough way is very important.
· Cable Placement – Aerial and underground telecommunications cable installation. There will be Aerial work, conduit rodding work, and ground disturbance (digging) work involved
· Customer Service – Communicating with the homeowners and obtaining paperwork in a professional manner to complete the outside placement of their fiber optic cable.

Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following (please mention when applying):

· Telecommunications construction experience

· Spur pole climbing experience or interest/ability to learn
· Experience working on 28’ Ladders
· Conduit rodding experience
· Experience with ground disturbance to place new conduit and fiber cabling underground
· Clean driving abstract

Required qualifications

· Grade 12 or equivalent required
· Clean class 5 drivers license
· Ability to lift 60lbs
· Ability to work at heights
· Ability to travel for out of town projects when required
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Required training. Willing to offer for right candidate:
· Aerial lift / bucket truck
· Fall protection
· Ground disturbance level 2
· Limits of approach
· Safety (CSTC-09 or SiteSafety BC)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
