The Role at NFP

Our commercial property and casualty insurance brokerage partners help protect corporations and non-profits across Canada from the little surprises and the big ones. No matter how complex the client’s needs are, their best interests are represented professionally and thoughtfully by elite professionals who care about the client’s success.

We’re looking for a Commercial Farm Producer to join our award-winning Business Insurance division. The Producer will deliver a best-in-class client experience by leveraging your industry knowledge & experience. The successful candidate will initiate and develop new business relationships for NFP’s Farm Business.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify & build a pipeline of quality Farm business leads through referrals and other prospecting techniques (such as making 30 outbound calls per day)
  • Develop submissions (in conjunction with commercial lines underwriting staff) to markets that will meet the present/emerging needs of the client and close the sale
  • Quote between 40 and 60 prospects per month, or as needed to meet production plan following all quality control and underwriting procedures established by NFP
  • Positive and negative endorsements in the first year are credited to the producer’s account. Any cancellations within the first year are charged back
  • Hand-off responsibility for the provision of service to clients to the relevant Account Manager in the service teams
  • When appropriate to the maintenance of good customer service, field customer service requests (especially post-sale of one’s clients), and ensure the completion by oneself, or by referral to a Client Manager
  • Actively participate in team meetings related to the role

What You Bring

  • Valid RIBO License or ability to obtain within 2 months required
  • Typically, 4+ years business-to-consumer or business sales experience (preferably in Insurance)
  • Strong knowledge of risks associated with Farm Business (livestock, equine, cash crops, statement values of properties, etc.)
  • Passion for sales; committed to delivering a top-notch client experience
  • Self-managing with strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills with attention to the details
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to adapt to and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders
