Our Executive Sous Chef reports to the Executive Chef and is a essential ingredient in the recipie of success in our culinary team. They will use their exceptional leadership skills to bring the team together, train and develop our culinary team, and engage with the front of house team to delight our customers and guests. Key Responsibilities

  • Support our Executive Chef by developing and assuming key management responsibilities of the culinary division.

  • Develop strong relationships between the culinary division and all other hotel departments.

  • Supervise departmental Sous Chefs and develop their potential.

  • Develop and implement creative menus that are enticing to our colleagues, customers and guests.

  • Plan, coordinate & implement special events and holiday functions.

  • Support the Executive Chef in managing the scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring of culinary team members.

  • Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis ensuring financial performance and control.

  • Ensure proper occupational health and safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.

  • Organize and facilitate departmental meetings, training and goals setting

Qualifications

  • Some previous leadership experience in a culinary team is required.
  • Diploma/Certification in a culinary discipline preferred
  • Red Seal Certification or international equivalent is required.
  • Proven track record of cost control including food, equipments, labour and wastage to meet the goals and the hotel’s financial goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
