Excavator Operator

We are a well established specialized construction company looking for operators to join our growing team. Our core business is piling and underpinning installations for a variety of foundations for industrial, commercial and residential properties. Position Summary

This position involves operating an excavator for the purpose of installing helical piles and on occasion, vibratory driven piles. The candidate will have experience in operating machinery ranging from mini excavators up to JD345 sized machines. Additional experience operating telehandlers, skidsteers, forklifts, and other machinery will be considered an asset The operator will follow good work practices and procedures and sets a good example for new crew members and co-workers. Some additional work with hand tools and power tools may also be required from time to time.

Responsibilities

• Work with the lead driller to drill and install piling systems in accordance with the project specifications
• Perform a variety of general construction work as required on the job site
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
• Accept direction from the Field Supervisor and/or Project Manager as required

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction is required
• Minimum of 5 years excavation experience
• Be physically fit and hardworking
• Have excellent attendance, punctuality, and dependability
• Have the interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively on a team
• Be self-motivated, take initiative and be keen to learn new skills
• Have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle
• Located in the Vancouver area, some out of town work but THIS IS NOT A CAMP JOB
