About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for an Environmental Project Manager to join our Contaminated Lands team. This is a hybrid role with a preferred Vancouver base. Option for remote work can be considered depending on candidate. Occasional travel required to projects throughout British Columbia.

You will be responsible for managingkey client environmental projects, focussed on site monitoring, assessment and remediation. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and scope.

Your essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to the growth of Core6 by supporting business development initiatives and fostering new and existing client relationships
  • Facilitating the successful execution of projects by assisting in the development of plans, budgets, and accurate cost estimates
  • Overseeing all aspects of projects, deadlines, responsibility assignments, project progress and deliverables
  • Implementing contaminated sites assessments, remediation, risk assessment and construction monitoring projects
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously by tracking project status, performance, and completion to ensure efficient and effective execution both technically and per the agreed to schedule and budget
  • Participating in client meetings, and team meetings, and providing progress updates on projects
  • Coordinating fieldwork and field teams for various environmental projects
  • Collaborating within a team-based environment, rather than working independently
  • Engaging in regular collaboration with senior mentors for guidance and learning opportunities
  • Attending webinars and training sessions to stay up-to-date with industry advancements and continuing education
  • Taking part in rolling out presentations for staff training and knowledge sharing

About You

To qualify, you will have a minimum of 7 years of environmental consulting experiencein contaminated site investigation and/or remediation/risk assessment projects in British Columbia.

The following attributes will be critical to successfully performing this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Registered professional in British Columbia or eligible for registration (e.g. PAg, PEng, PGeo, RPBio)
  • Extensive knowledge of BC provincial and Canadian federal acts, regulations, and guidance
  • Strong scientific report and proposal writing skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated curiosity to learn and acquire technical knowledge from peers, and the ability to confidently share thoughts and ideas for continuous improvement for you, your team, and clients
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively conveying project goals, tasks, and risks in simple and clear language
  • Proficient in project planning to coordinate and implement field programs to meet project schedules and budgets
  • Willingness to travel, visit the sites you are managing, and gain hands-on knowledge
  • Adept at mentoring and developing team members, and celebrating their achievements
