Job Description

Employees will not be required to be onsite as this position can be performed remotely/hybrid .

The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers responsible for Diagnostic Software Quality Assurance and Program Execution to ensure high quality software is deployed and tracked supporting our active safety and automated driving features. You will lead of team of 15 to 18 engineers in an agile development environment. Post COVID, cumulative travel requirements of 2 to 4 weeks a year is typical, primarily to Michigan and other locations in the US.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide People and Technical Leadership to a team of engineers responsible for ensuring high quality diagnostic software through extensive testing and issue resolution of pre & post-production software supporting active safety and automated driving features
  • Refine strategic growth opportunities in the Quality Assurance domain, working with internal and global stakeholders
  • Lead PVET and Diagnostic Operational Evaluation (DOE) testing
  • Manage the CTC ADAS vehicle fleet and work with teams to ensure correct test configurations
  • Continue to drive an agile culture, focusing on behaviours and performance, and support the implementation of SAFe
  • Engage in all aspects of talent development (mentorship, career development, progression, and succession planning, training etc.)
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders both locally and remotely to support delivery of team’s goals
  • Support the Canadian Technical Centre (CTC) growth initiatives related to recruitment and hiring
  • Exemplify corporate values and drive a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, and change.
  • Manage the day to day operational needs of the team (budget, travel, etc.)
Required Skills And Experience
  • 8+ years of industry experience in embedded software development, including requirements analysis, software development and deployment, test case generation and execution
  • Knowledge of various program languages (C/C++, Python), automotive tools (dSpace, ETAS, Vector) and hardware integration
  • Experience with talent development (mentorship, career development, progression, and succession planning, etc.)
  • Experience in leading the implementation of testing strategies (Different testing levels, manual and automation) to ensure first time quality
  • Ability to travel to the United States and possess valid Canadian driver’s license
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical ability to resolve complex problems
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with many team members local and remote
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate, think strategically, and initiate action in support of positive change
Preferred Skills And Experience
  • Experience as a ‘people leader’ overseeing technical teams
  • Knowledge of vehicle architectures, serial data communication, and hardware/software interfaces
Minimum Education Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
