The role of the Deployment and Support Engineer is to support our carrier customers with innovative technology and market-leading products and solutions in areas like 4G/5G Core, IP Multimedia Sub-System (IMS).

Role And Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execution of on-site & remote deployments of 4G/5G Core & IMS Network elements
• Build & setup necessary infrastructure environment to carry out System test for 4G/5G Core & IMS Network elements
• Define functional specification & prepare High Level Design documents.
• Prepare and deliver MOPs & troubleshooting guide for our customers
• Supporting integration, configuration & testing of 4G & IMS network elements.
• Co-accountable for functional & non-functional testing of deployed systems.
• Involve in troubleshooting, software updates and network change requests.
• Involve in preparing & executing Acceptance Test Case.
• Co-accountable for operational launch of solution.
• Develop/modify test scripts to enable automation of System deployments, System Integration & verification activities.
  

Requirements/Knowledge

• Knowledge of wireless telecommunications networks (4G, 5G, IMS)
• Experience with Virtualization, Containerized / Cloud-Native environments (MicroService infrastructures, OpenShift, OpenStack)
• Working experience with cloud providers – Google, AWS, Azure
• Experience on SIP, DIAMETER, HTTP/HTTPS, SOAP, RTP/SRTP
• Experience in System Integration, designing, deploying and testing in a multi-Vendor platform scenario.
• Proven experience working with distributed Linux operating systems (installation, configuration and troubleshooting).
• Understanding of Linux core fundamentals, scripting and service monitoring.
• Solid understanding of IP networking (CCNA, CCNP etc…).
• Good scripting skills (awk, sed, bash).
• Firm understanding of version control systems such as subversion.
• Solid understanding of Lean, Agile, CICD, SRE, DevOps methodologies
• Have exceptional troubleshooting and customer-handling skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Business travel may be required as per business needs.
  

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related field
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, System’s Design Engineering or related field considered an asset.
  

Experience

• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Previous experience in deploying applications on virtualized or containerized environments.
• Experience with scripting, development, creating a CICD pipeline.
• Ability to think outside of the box and develop new ways of solving business problems using automation and continuous delivery.
• Explore, evaluate and adopt technologies so as to add value in the deployment process and/or the platform to be delivered.
• Taking ownership of technical issues, and working with our Development group to resolve issues
• Resolving escalated customer complaints.
• Documenting troubleshooting and problem resolution steps.
