JobBackground& SummaryWe at Actalent Services are a fast-growing engineering consulting group which expanded to Canada in 2014. A significant part of that growth has come out of our Western Canadian Operations focused on Infrastructure and Utilities projects. To support this growth, we have opened a full-time position for a Electrical EIT to join our team on a full-time basis. The selected individual will be a part of our Utilities Division based out of New Westminster, BC.Key activities include liaising with project stakeholders, completing project designs and performing quality assurance functions. The selected individual will be trained and mentored by a group of electrical designs and engineers.The selected individual will join our rapidly growing team delivering projects to a variety of utility clients with a focus on electrical utility infrastructure. We are looking for people that take ownership, are career motivated, well organized and detail oriented with a proven ability to meet deadlines.This is a full-time role.Successfully passing Drug & Alcohol Screening is a requirement for this role.Job Requirements

• BSc. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems/Electrical Power Option (with Co-op option preferred).
• Registered EIT or eligible to register as a EIT with EGBC
• 0-2 years of professional experience (post-graduation)
• Hold BC Class 5 Drivers License OR within 6 months of Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• British Columbia Travel, 30% field during Spring & Summer / 10% field during Fall & Winter
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient using MS Office suite

Considered an asset

• Distribution design experience with BC Hydro or other electric utility will be considered an asset, but not required.
• Experience with design software’s (e.g. AutoCAD, Spidacalc, Pull Planner, etc.) will be considered an asset, but not required
• Experience in utilize client based Geographic Information System (GIS) will be considered an asset, but not required.

Job Responsibilities

• Design underground (UG) and overhead (OH) electrical power infrastructure according to BC Hydro standards
• Conduct site inspections and reviews (30% field during Spring & Summer / 10% field during Fall & Winter)
• Prepare design packages for review and submission
• Carry out research on property boundary and prepare easement requests
• Obtain permits from the appropriate authorities (municipal, MOTI, etc.)
• Prepare issue for construction packages
• Coordinating with clients, co-workers, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders
• Attend project meetings
• Provide technical and administrative support through all phases of a project
