• Job **Background** & Summary* We at Actalent Services are a fast-growing engineering consulting group which expanded to Canada in 2014. A significant part of that growth has come out of our Western Canadian Operations with a focus on electrical utility infrastructure.
  
  

We have an opening for an Electrical Drafter/Designer (Intermediate) to join our Stations Team. We are looking for people that are driven, are well organized and detail oriented with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Key activities include preparing technical drawings, performing quality assurance functions liaising with project stakeholders, and assisting with document management. The selected individual will be supported and mentored by a multidisciplinary team.

This role is a full-time position. This position is office based currently operating on a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days at home.

Successfully passing Drug & Alcohol Screening is a requirement for this role.

• Qualifications and Experience: *
• Technology Diploma in Electrical Engineering, CAD or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years work experience with 3 years drafting experience preparing layout, schematic, wiring and instrumentation drawings.
• Extensive experience using AutoCAD 2D.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient using MS Office suite
• Any of the below experience will be considered an asset for the role: *
• Experience with BC Hydro standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD 3D, Autodesk Inventor or MicroStation 2D.
• Previous experience in document control, including drawing management and maintaining revision tracking and deliverable transmittals.
• A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
• Job Responsibilities: *
• Prepare a variety of drawings related to electrical substation/physical designs, protection, control and SCADA designs.
• Perform self-checking and checking work of peers.
• Prepare design packages for review and submission
• Manage drawing transmittals and drawing status database.
• Contribute to internal drafting processes and standards.
