Responsibilities

Working alongside the director of the centre to ensure the good functioning of the centre by:

• Answering parent inquiries
• Evaluating students’ academic needs and planning programs
• Assisting tutors by offering creative ideas and innovative teaching strategies
• Meeting with parents to provide progress updates on their child
• Participating in/facilitating special events and marketing strategies
• Training and supporting new tutors
• Meeting with community organizations (youth centres, schools, businesses, etc.) in order to expand the Alpha brand
• Complete other administrative tasks to ensure the well functioning of the centre

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic individual with a natural flare for teaching children
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to adapt to change and capacity to take initiative
• Excellent organizational skills

• Bilingual (required)
• Background in Teaching, Early Childhood Education, Psychology or related field (required)
• Relevant experience in teaching or tutoring (required)

Targeted Degrees and Disciplines:

• Targeted Clusters Baccalaureate / Bachelor of Arts (Child Studies, Applied Human Sciences, Psychology)
• Baccalaureate / Bachelor of Education (Elementary/High School Education, Early Childhood Education)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Expected start date: 2021-08-30

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $33,000.00-$38,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Weekends

All tutors and students are required to wear a mask

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Experience:

• teaching/tutoring: 1 year (preferred)
• management: 1 year (preferred)
