Rosewood Hotel Georgia is looking for a Director of Sales.

As a Director of Sales, lead the strategic planning and execution of the hotel’s overall sales and marketing plan, goals and objectives. Utilize prospecting skills and strong business sense to consistently exceed room and revenue goals. Assist Director of Sales & Marketing in training, motivating and supporting sales & reservation team. Report and critique all sales and catering activities and statistics reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing on a monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the efficient and effective management of the sales division towards attainment of overall company objectives and operational goals; develops strategies for forecasting and analyzing sales needs, delivery systems and methods for measuring and evaluating results; plans, develops and executes marketing plan to provide direction and a specific plan of action for travel industry sales.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates short-term tactics and long-range marketing/sales plans and programs focused on customer needs and expectations.
  • Achieve Personal revenue and activity goal, Achieve team revenue and activity for travel industry team.
  • Complete the strategy and action plan of the Marketing Plan, for all segments.
  • Strategize with the Revenue Team on selling strategies, promotions, packages and forecasts.
  • Monitor and evaluate production for each promotion, distribution channel and market source.
  • Complete Activity Critiques for all segments (monthly).
  • Work with Revenue Management & Reservations Team on inputting, updating, and auditing the in-house reservation system and Global Distribution System.
  • Work closely with external / internal Sales Offices and Corporate team on special projects relating to Travel Industry.
  • Communicate rate strategies, rate restrictions and policies (ie: Travel Agent Rate, Minimum and Maximum Stays, Discounts) to ensure all departments are aware and comply.
  • Attends various departmental meetings and communicates information to/from Sales Department.
  • Hold meetings with the Front Office, Housekeeping, Finance, and Reservations as needed to ensure SOPs are adhered to (ie: Direct Billing, VIP/Special Attention, Site Inspections, Small Group Resumes) or if a new process need to be created.
  • Maintain good relations with counterparts at other sister hotels.
  • Organize and execute Central Reservation and Luxury Travel Agent Familiarization Trips to educate the agents on the hotel and develop good relations.
  • Maintain good communications with counterparts at hotels in the competitive set to gain a high level of knowledge of their product and strategy.
  • Grow existing accounts in assigned markets. Ability to prioritize effectively in order to manage the business and develop accounts in assigned markets.
  • Consistently meet/exceed individual sales goals.
  • Submit Incentive program results to DOSM.
  • Complete ROIs on new projects/expenditure not forecasted or budgeted.
  • Manage completion of new projects, as they arise.
  • Performs all other related duties/projects/reports as assigned by Director of Sales and Marketing



Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the hospitality industry (Experience at a luxury hotel, AAA Five Diamond and/or Forbes Five Star, preferred), with experience in the Greater Vancouver Area
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, Sales, Marketing or relevant field or work, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • A comprehensive understanding of wholesale, luxury leisure, negotiated, group and event segments
  • Proven track record of a consistent ability to exceed sales goals
  • Previous sales leadership experience preferred
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, Sales, Marketing or relevant field or work, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to speak publicly and interact with prospective customers
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally if deemed necessary
  • Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
  • Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 25 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
