Our client, an Atlantic Canadian owned and operated company, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance to lead all finance functions for their office in Truro, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate is an entrepreneurial and driven professional interested in contributing to all aspects of the business’ finance and operations. A critical member of the management team, this role reports to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Strategic planning
• Managing the cost and financial accounting and reporting
• Leading growth initiatives
• Internal controls and processes management
• Risk management
• Budgeting and forecasting
• External relationship management
• Staff management

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• CPA designation with 10+ years relevant experience
• Excellent business acumen with interest in fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Exceptional leadership, communication and mentoring skills
• Ability to operate at both a strategic level and in a “hands on” capacity is critical
• Strong problem resolution and adaptability with a positive, collaborative approach
