Reporting to: Project Manager

Job Purpose

The Core Cutter’s primary responsibility is the safe operation of a rock saw, to cut core samples and prepare samples for shipment. This position is responsible to abide by all safety regulations in sawing as outlined in our Standard Operation Procedure (SOP).

Duties

• Regular operation of Rock Saw for sawing Core to prepare samples
• Regularly lift up to 50lbs (average weight of a full core box) every 15-20 minutes
• Prepare shipments with samples for assays.
• Prepping sample bags prior to the start of cutting for the day.
• Assist with routine scheduled maintenance on all equipment as described in the GT Core Saw
  

Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Binder.

• Ensuring all GT Saw equipment and tools are kept in good, clean working order.
• Reading and understanding the GT Saw SOP Binder.
• Required to assist geotechnical staff when necessary.
• Assist with ensuring all GT camp accessories are organized, cleaned and returned to storage post

Camp

• Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean and effective work area.
• Responsible for maintaining clean personal living quarters.
• Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of all camp gear that is used.
• Keeping a good attitude in the camp environment and in dealing with other workers
