Overview Of The Opportunity

The Business Continuity team ensures the KPMG’s resilience by proactively planning and testing

for the loss of facility, employees, technology or key third parties that may impact our people or

client service delivery. The Business Continuity Manager is a key subject matter expert who

will support, execute, and advance all strategic and operational elements of our firm’s

continuity program.

This position can be performed remotely and has been posted in multiple locations.

What You Will Do
  • Work with service lines across Canada and the National BCP team to complete and refresh our Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
  • Oversee the maintenance and testing of the regional business continuity plans
  • Provide guidance and insight to the Local Business Continuity Coordinators regarding plan enhancements, maintenance, and testing (including our mass notification system)
  • Support the development and facilitation of regional training exercises (tabletop exercises)
  • Coordinate with other firm Business Continuity Management plan owners (Crisis management, Disaster Recovery, and Pandemic) to maintain BCP plan integration
  • Ensure KPMG’s preparedness to respond to infectious diseases of pandemic potential at all times [including providing decision makers with credible and timely risk assessments to guide effective responses and frameworks to collect, share analyze and report information to decision makers]
  • Support the response process to planned/unplanned events that disrupts firm back office or client delivery processes
  • Report on BCP program KPI’s and overall status on a regular basis
  • Work with the National BES Director to identify new firm acquisitions and coordinate including them into the KPMG BCP/DRP program
  • Complete relevant external / internal training to remain current in Business Continuity Management techniques
  • Participant in KPMG Global and member firm Business Continuity Management (BCM) conference calls to align program techniques and leverage materials / experience
What You Bring To The Role
  • A professional certification in Business Continuity Planning (CBCP, ABCP)
  • Broad knowledge of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and technology Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) including
    • Execution of a Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
    • Development and maintenance of BCP’s and DRP’s
  • Experience in developing, delivering, and facilitating table top exercises
  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively collaborate and manage relationships with varying levels of management throughout the firm
  • Strong ability to work with minimum direction and possess a high drive for delivering timely, high-quality results
